An easy, refreshing mocktail for January!
This is the easiest mocktail, all you really need is 3 ingredients to create a delicious, fizzy, fun drink with no alcohol. It is a great beverage for this time of year because it is high in antioxidants and vitamin C. (I see you flu season!)
Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of this drink. It tastes so so good and the ratios are perfect!
There are 3 important things every mocktail needs to feel fun and festive.
Fresh herbs
Herbs add a really good depth of flavor that can be lacking in many mocktail recipes since there is no alcohol. I love fresh rosemary (the smell is so good!) and mint in my mocktails.
Garnish, garnish, garnish
Dehydrated limes, lemons, or oranges add a really fun touch. All you have to do is slice your citrus thinly and place it on a cooling rack in the oven at 200 degrees for 2 hours. Flip and bake for another 2 hours until completely dried out! Store in an airtight container in the pantry for about 2 months. (You will wow all your friends with this one).
Of course, you can also garnish it with fresh citrus or berries!
Fun glass
Don’t let your cocktail glasses collect dust. Use all your normal fun glasses for your mocktail recipes. It feels way more special than just using a boring water glass. Bonus points for salting or sugaring the rim!
Can I turn this mocktail into a cocktail with alcohol?
Absolutely! I recommend adding clear alcohol. A shot of vodka or tequila I think would go best with these flavors. Once the alcohol is added, taste and see if you would like to add more lime juice, pomegranate juice, or maybe some sweetener.
