Are you a fan of chocolate turtles but looking for a healthier alternative? Look no further than this paleo 5 ingredient chocolate turtles recipe! With only a handful of simple ingredients, this recipe is perfect for those looking to indulge in a sweet treat without the guilt. These are paleo, gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free.
If you are looking to cut down on refined sugars or processed ingredients this recipe is for you.
Typically turtles are made with a caramel center, way too much sugar, and questionable additives. These are too simple to make to have to buy turtles (that I think usually taste stale and not fresh) at the store! Once you make these, you won’t go back to store-bought.
These chocolate turtles are easy to make and bursting with rich, indulgent flavor, making them the perfect dessert or snack for any occasion. They have the perfect amount of sweet, salty and nutty taste that makes for the perfect bite of chocolate.
Chocolate turtles also make an excellent gift to give to a loved one. (Who doesn’t want homemade chocolate?!) Wrap it in some lovely tissue paper, place it in a cute box with a card and you’re golden!
Where can I find gluten-free pretzels?
For this recipe, I bought a bag of “grain-free, gluten-free” pretzels that was sold at my local Aldi, and it was their own generic brand. I have also seen some gluten-free pretzels at Walmart. Search at your local store in the “gluten-free” section.
Here is a brand I recommend on Amazon. It is made with cassava flour and is vegan!
What are the best chocolate chips to use?
If you are paleo or vegan my absolute favorite chocolate chips are HU chocolate Gems. (affiliate link)
If you are keto, or want a sugar-free option, I love the “Bake Believe” brand or the “Thrive Market” brand of keto chocolate chips. (affiliate link)
